Not done this before so hopefully I have done this correctly. Just turned on debug logging from the GUI, restarted and then played a couple of DVDs and then copied xbmc.log to here:

Any ideas anyone? Should I log a bug?

There seem to be lots of mentions of discontinuity in the log but I don't know what this means or if it is helpful.

You may want to try the Windows/Linux/MacOSX version of XBMC and see whether it experiences the same problems as the Xbox version...

I've tried XBMC for the Mac and have no problems but I still get the stuttering/choppy playback on the XBOX v1.1 when streaming from the NAS.

Can anyone say if they have personallly ripped a dvd to iso or folders and then streamed it over a wired 10/100 network with no problems? Just to emphasise the DVD is not compressed or re-encoded in anyway.

I used MacTheRipper to extract the DVD folders.

Thanks.

I've just downloaded rev 29407 from t3ch and still have the issue. However I have created an image of one of the ripped dvds using Disk Utility on the Mac and then using the context menu selected Play using and then selected MPlayer and the DVD plays back absolutely fine. Problem is that it only plays the trailers and then bombs out and obviously I don't get the full dvd experience - menus etc. I am assuming this eliminates network issues.

Is it possible to use another DVD Player?
