Stacked movies won't play
#1
Hello,

I discovered that some of my movies in the library didn't play and I realized that most of them are being stacked.
So I did go to file mode and tried playing them there only to discover it doesn't work either.
Now the weird part is if I unstack them in file mode each file just plays fine.
Had the Problem with the latest t3ch build rev29407 so I tried the lastet nightly built but it's just the same.
Here's a log from t3ch but didn't help me much.

another (recent?) problem with stacked videos: normally when a video is played with dvdplayer, mediaflagging takes all the info from a file and e.g. displays it in movie-librarymode ("sd xvid ac3" etc) - but it doesn't work with stacked movies who consist of two files. didnt work for me with rev29407 as well as one of the recent nightly builds.

There's been a few updates lately (http://trac.xbmc.org/log/branches/xbox) to dvdplayer ffmpeg (rev 30158) as well as some rollbacks, but it's probably a good idea to try with a newer build, google for SSCHS night builds or use T3CH Upgrader script (the script works for both SSHCS and T3CH builds) and install that in a separate folder so you can try it first, do not overwrite your running XBMC.
#6
my last update was about 2 weeks ago, but i'll try the latest one and report back if the problem is solved.
#7
tried latest nightly build from may 20th, media flagging still won't work with stacked movies.
the info is shown while playing the files, but not in library.
#8
For me the media flags are showing in the latest t3ch build but still can play the movies, weird.

Edit: Did some testing and acctually I can play 4 out of 10 stacked movies. They are all copied from SVCD so they are all mpeg 2 makes it even more weird why some play and others don't.

Debug log?
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

So here is another log, first I start playing chocolat, which is working fine then I stop it and try playing finding nemo, which doesn't.

I'm not a guru at this stuff but does finding Nemo play on your PC?

And you could try using the other player. To do this enter the context menu(white button on control, or title button on remote) on the movie you are having trouble with and press the Play using button (@nd button down) then select either Mplayer or Dvdplayer, try em both. And let us know how you get on. Possibly debug report on using each player. Smile

Hope this helps

It does play on my pc and it does play on the xbox also but only if it's unstacked. Tried already playing it with the other player but didn't help but thanks for your help anyway.
