I first just want to say this is very cool and I'm excited to have this available for the ATV2. I just read about this last night and I did a restore on my ATV, jailbreak with SeasonPass, aTV flash install and xbmc was up and running in just an hour.
Also, the performance on all my 720 media was fantastic. I was having a lot of performance issues with the latest plex as well as it not playing some media. The performance with xbmc works very well though I have not tried any 1080 movies I'm very happy with the quality.
I did run into a bug in the gui and I would like to make a couple interface suggestions.
1. I was playing with the settings and after making a change to settings - system - display mode, it is stuck in windowed and does not allow me to change back to full screen. The display option is not available and also shows windowed and I would like to go back to full screen. I admit I probably shouldn't have changed it but was playing with all the settings
2. AFP support. I'm new to xbmc and setting up an smb volume on my nas where my movies are was simple but it would be nice to just see my mac volumes.
3. Viewing media files is not very intuitive. It works fine, navigating directly to the media file but it's not very elegant having to go in subfolders to search for your media. One thing I like about Plex is it will search all the subfolders, scan the media and present the media very nicely. I'm new to xbmc and maybe that's on the way or just not part of this release but it would be a great feature.
4. xbmc exit. All my other add on's to ATV will exit by holding down the menu button. Sometimes xbmc gets stuck and others it will present a screen with exit, power off system, suspend, reboot. Both exit and poweroff seem to do the same thing though exit seems like the more obvious choice. Though the first time I selected exit my ATV rebooted. Just fyi, I think this could be more intuitive to go back to the Apple menu.
Thanks again. I'm very excited that this is available for ATV
