is it possible to play .pls file, if so can some one advise me the correct format for these if playing audion from the hdd, as i can not get it to work.

yes. it is possible. you can download any pls file from shoutcast.com as a sample.

only it seems you can only use a non-authenticated simple .pls from shoutcast only. using a url provided by authenticated sites like live365 will not work. a shame that the implimentation of streaming mp3s is so limited for the xbmc/xbmp. most of my most favorite streaming audio sites are not useable and am forced to listen on my 'puter (using mplayer on it works just dandy).

ahh just figured it, i was on the wrong track, i have just created a m3u file and this does exactly what i wanted.
