i am using 15-01-03 build of xbmc, my xbox is hooked up to a surround amp via a toslink cable. when i play an xvid .avi file with mp3 sound the sound is encoded to ac3 on all six channels. i get the left channel from the front and rear left speakers and the right channel from the front and rear right speakers with a mixture from the centre.
is this the normal behaviour, if not how do i stop it, i would rather have either spdif stereo or 2 channel ac3 so my surround amp can decode it as pro logic.
video files with ac3 sound are fine the ac3 is passed straight through to the amp.
