Kai network issue
#1
hello,

i have been trying to set up kai for quite some time with no success. i followed the online manual and set the udp port on my linksys router. i then ran kai and booted xbmc and it told me the ip of the server, and that the ui has attached. so i put that ip in the kai settings, but everytime i go to run it, i get an error message saying

"the service is not connected, would you like to attempt reconnecting it with xbox media center"

the ip that the server is running at is 192.168.1.106, which is the ip in the kai setting. also, the password and username were automatically transferred.

thanks for your help,

i changed the kai ip server to my computers ip. now it tells me that my username and password were rejected by the orbital server, as well as says it cannot connect to xbmc.

once again, linksys wrt54g router, port 30000 forwarded to my pc's ip on udp.

please help!

i have the new xbmc pimped edition and everything works fine. have you run kai config tool instead of start kai, there is an option under default profiles for engine only (for dashboards) make sure this selected and re-check the lauch ui button lower down, this is because without the ui running you will no longer be able to log in from your pc (unless you re-run the tool ).

now launch the engine then try to connect to the service again from your xbox.

dont use the ip for the kai engine use the ip for your router or nic card hopefully problem solved Smile
