looks like you are running Frodo addon on Eden XBMC. did you try to run Frodo XBMC? that would have updated all addons to latest

Ah yes, I updated to Frodo perhaps couple of weeks ago, but it was completely unstable for me (at least on my Mac), so I reverted back to Eden, and I restored the userdata folder/settings I saved elsewhere.
I haven't really used subtitles during this period between back when I tried Frodo and now on this Mac until now.

Yeah, try removing the addon manually and install again from the addon repo. You need version 3.5.* for eden
