G-Box Midnight v 2.2

Hi:

I'm new to working with this Android device but have been working with XBMC on a windows computer.

I'm trying to set up the Files in the Video Tab. The files I'm looking to add are on a Microsoft PC - on an external drive (JBod) - when adding I'm selecting Microsoft Network (SMB) - XBMC sees the PC but does not let me access the data. The settings on the PC are totally open - no password or username are required - it is running Windows 7.

FYI - the other PCs in the house have no issue accessing this same data / video files?

The Microsoft Network work group is WORKGROUP.

On the same SMB - I'm able to see and access the NAS drive for other video files. The PC which I'm trying to access has UnPnP available on its XBMC setup and with that I can access all files .... I would like to access through the Microsoft Network (SMB) setup Huh

Another questions - I have one G-Box connected to a projector --- that one device seems to sputter/stutter the Video - what are the proper settings to have a smooth playback on that setup? I have tried the most current nightly (April 12) build as well as Frodo 12.1

thanks .....

The smb part of your problem is very common on android and iOS. Try manually adding the network and use the ip instead of the name. This fixes it inmost instances. When you add the network leave it as a windows smb, put the name as the computer's ip, and then the folder name you need shared. If your server is on a home group I suggest leaving it and sharing the folders to everyone through your workgroup.
