Hi, I'm having weird experiences using this add-on. I'm hoping someone can help.
My Windows PC is doing the recordings from UK Freeview through Windows Media Center. I can see the recordings fine on the Pi. But some refuse to play.
Having investigated further I've discovered that my twin-tuner USB stick is sometimes recording multiple audio tracks, including the impaired one ('a man walks into the room' etc.).
When browsing the files on the Pi in the Recordings section, the rogue files show up with a different icon to the playable ones.
I've looked for settings in Windows Media Center but can find nothing.
Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers

hi, having the audio impaired track included is pretty standard stuff as far as i am aware. its there in 90% of my freesat/sky recordings and i've not noticed any issue such as you describe
to confirm i've just played today's eastenders through xbmc, all works fine, then checked in videoredo and it has two audio tracks nar is the audio described and eng which is the DD+ track

BarnesPi, some pi builds (not sure if it is all pi builds) cannot play large wtv files. To see if that's the problem, go to the debug tab in swmc and turn on 'remux the playback of all wtv files'. After you turn this switch on, restart swmc and then the pi. Then see if these files can play.

Hi Krusty
Thanks for your reply. I'm a little confused.
Have I got the correct version of this software? The .exe file was created on 2/10/2013. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.
I took a look at the wiki.xbmc.org for your plugin, but the screenshots are a bit different to what I am seeing.
Under the Debug Tab of SWMC I only have three tick boxes - Keep a Log File, Delete Temporary Stream Files and Log All wtv Headers and a couple of buttons to open log files. This is different to the four tick boxes shown on the screen shot in the wiki, and the remux option you referred to
I have no Recordings Tab, which is a shame because I might have been able to force the default audio track to 'eng' to see if that solved the visually impaired audio track issue.
Any help would be much appreciated. If I can crack this one problem it will completely change my xbmc experience. I'm currently having to use MCEBuddy (with very mixed results) or other video conversion software. Removing these steps would score me big points with 'she who must be obeyed'.
Cheers

Yes, that's quite an old build! If you subscribe to the Release Anouncements sticky threads at the top of this forum, you will be notified whenever new server or addon versions are released

Hi Krusty
Yay! Success.
I was, indeed, working with an old copy of SWMC (version 1074 I think). I did many things, including updating to the latest version.
I also went through the TV retune process of WMC, but also specifying the preferred audio language to 'English' rather than the 'Default' audio stream.
I set WMC to record two programs simultaneously. And both were playable via SWMC on the Pi.
I then looked for a program that has the 'Audio Described' soundtrack and recorded that. This had been my problem, And, success again - playable on the Pi.
So, I'm now fully functional.
Many thanks for your help.
Cheers
P.S. And 'She who must be obeyed' is happy.

when you refer to specifying the preferred audio language, are you talking about within WMC, or are you talking about the configuration in our ServerWMC GUI? Out of interest...
