Release Last.FM Scrobbler
Does the addon throw an error if credentials are wrong? I don't think they are and in it settings file I see the key... but I'm not getting songs scrobbled and I don't know how to debug.

I will try with debug log later but I wanted to be sure about credentials handling. Thanks.

yes, if authentication fails, you should see a notification in kodi.

Ok... so credentials are good. What should I be seeing in a debug log when a track is scrobbled and sent to last.fm? Because this really doesn't seem to be working for me. Undecided

it won't log anything if a track is successfully scrobbled.
only when something goes wrong, the addon will log something.
it depends on the type of error what gets logged.

if you any more questions, please provide a Debug Log, that's much easier for me than guessing ;-)

Hi, struggling to get anything scrobbled at the moment.

I have entered my credentials (received no error) and enabled the "submit songs" and "submit streaming radio" options.  I also enabled logging to see if the debug log showed anything interesting but can't see anything relating to a last fm failure.

I have attached the log for reference, at 17:27 I played a local file from my library and let the track play to the end,  At 17:36 I played several tracks through the Radio Paradise plugin but nothing ends up showing in my LastFM recently scrobbled list.

After enabling debug logging, you need to restart Kodi.
Your logfile is now missing all info on what's happening during startup.
Now i can't see if the lastfm addon is starting correctly or not.

Hi,

Log file attached after a fresh reboot.  I have this partly working now where songs saved locally on my device are scrobbled to Last FM.

I still have an issue with radio streams though, the log file at 18:16 shows the name of the artist and track which I see in Last FM under recent tracks which shows as "scrobbling".  This track doesn't then appear under scrobbled once playback has finished though.

I left the stream playing and another two songs played, but these don't show at all in Last FM under recent tracks, it still shows the name of the original track at 18:16 in the log file that was playing.  This eventually dissapears from Last FM completley and nothing is shown under recent tracks or anything currently scrobbling.  I'm hoping there is a way for this addon to detect track changes in radio streams.

I've manually updated my version of the addon to 4.06 from the older version that is in the repository to see if that solved the issue but I have the same problem.

the problem with the radio stream you're using, is that it does not provide the track duration.

the last.fm imposes a few restriction on which tracks can be scrobbled.
for instance, you're not allowed to submit very short tracks (less than 30 seconds)
and tracks only qualify for scrobbling if they have been played for at least 50%.

in order to comply with those terms, the lastfm addon needs to know the track duration.
if this info is not available, it won't submit the track to last.fm.

This is not true. I tried it yesterday, first I put a wrong password and it only showed me a message saying something about the session id being updated, it never told me the password was wrong. Then I put the right password and it didn't show me any message at all. And btw the add-on doesn't work, it didn't scrobble anything to last.fm and definitely it didn't write anything on the log so I can't post it either, even I rebooted my TV every change I made trying to at lest get an error message on the log but nothing happened. I'm using the last version of kodi.

If this add-on, it's not supported and it doesn't work it should be retired.

This add-on works great for me (Android and Windows).

It doesn't work with the lastest kodi version on android tv, it show no notification either the password it's right or wrong, also choosing the debug option doesn't change anything, it's like the add-on isn't active at all but it is.
