This is an area I haven't explored much, but googling around hasn't been very fruitful.

I've got a mythtv backend, xbmc frontend. I can schedule recordings via the mythtv web interface, but it's buggy enough that I would like to know if there's a better way to record shows.

I tried mucking around in the xbmc interface, but the way to add recordings there ("Add Timer..") seems time-consuming and not easy.
