I have read thru the posts in this forum from users who have posted similar problem as mine, but I am still unable to use the add-on. I have setup the myth tv 0.27.4 backend from MacPorts on a mac mini. I can use the mythtv front end on that machine to watch live tv, so I feel like it is setup correctly. I disabled the IPv6 setting on the backend by clearing out the entry in that field in general settings of mythtv setup.

In Kodi 14.1 running on Windows 7, I enabled the add-on, set the pin to 0000 (as well as on the backend), set the ip address to the backend, and set the MAC address for WOL to the backend. The add-on will pull down the channel listing from the backend, but when I try and open a channel it reports that channel is not available after several minutes. I also periodically get messages stating that the connection to the backend is lost or has been restored. While I'm attempting to watch a live tv channel, I can verify that the backend is recording the live tv stream to disk because I can see them being created. The add-on will just not connect and play them, which I think is odd because it connects and pulls down the channels.[/php]

Really need a full debug log, The debug log file will be large.

You could try increasing the tuning delay in Mythtv PVR addon Advanced tab, to say 10 seconds, but from your above post it is more likely to be a symptom of earlier problems.

In Mythtv PVR addon advanced tab make sure "Include more debug information in the log file" is selected and Settings System Debugging is on, then restart kodi (this will make sure the log file contains all the Mythtv pvr addon startup information) and select some live TV channels, exit from kodi, post the log file to http://xbmclogs.com/ then post the reference here.

I got it to working finally! It was an oversight on my part; in the general settings of mythtv setup, I had not changed the second IP address field to my host machine's IP, and it was at the default 127.0.0.1.

Thanks for the information on the logs... I was thinking posting log info in my post was probably not the right thing to do.

I have another small issue regarding PVR playback, but I'll start another post for that.
