I'm thinking of building an ambilight based on a Raspberry Pi and hyperion that can be used for every HDMI input. My question is there may be situtation where I don't want an active ambilight based on what is currently being displayed on the screen? Is there a network protocol or interface that will allow me to write a program that detects me pressing a specific button which then tells Hyperion to display a specific color in static mode or to actively display colors based on what is being displayed on the screen.
Has anyone done this or know if its possible?
