mariadb/mysql form kodi14 to last kodi version
#1
Hello,

my configuration is this:

Debian server Mysql/MariaDB with installed database for Kodi 14 Helix
Any clients Openlelc with kodi Helyx installed and confiurated for to use the dabase form the server.

The clients have differents architettures: X86/ Rasperry Pi / Android ecc.

If I try to upgrade one of the clients from Kodi Helix to Kodi 17 or 18:

- in the screen of the client start "Migration database in progress" end never finish, I waited even 2 days but without success.

My question is:
Because the orign of my problem is the dimension of the database (2000 films/200 Serials ecc)
Is possible to have a bash script for to convert the database directly from the server Debian command line?

Thanks

You may still suffer from the old MyAddons27.db upgrade bug. Delete it and retry.
Be advised that each major Kodi version uses each its own database version.

Otherwise, enable debugging, retry, and if Kodi still freezes, check the kodi.old.log file after restarting Kodi.

Alternatively, if you still have a working Kodi 14 setup:
- make sure the import for watched statuses and/or resume points are enabled in the advancedsettings.xml file
- do a Video Library Export using separate files.
- do a clean installation of Kodi 17 (or 18 if you feel adventurous), and import your movie collection.

Question: do you also use Debian for a Kodi client..?

Hi,

I use a mysql database on remote server (Debian) and not a local database in the same computer where kodi run.
I already try to delete MyAddons27.db but this is only a local database, and it is completely irrelevant.

>>Question: do you also use Debian for a Kodi client..?
The clients are:
- N.3 Rasperry PI with Openelec
- N.2 Mobile (ARM) device with Android
- N.1 X86 PC with Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS

NB. all kodi version are Helix 14, the pc with ubuntu is not upgrade with the last version because after kodi need the update, but the new version of Kodi does not work with this version of the old database (helix).
That's why I need to upgrade the database

Thansk

Whenever a newer Kodi version is installed, video and music *AND* local databases are updated where applicable... So it's not that irrelevant.

OpenELEC is no longer maintained (at least for a year already), and it does not have the functionality to support the latest video/music scrapers. We recommend you cross over to an up-to-date LibreELEC build, stable or nightly.

Ok,

about Rasperry PI and local database I will give you your advice, but this does not solve the problem.
The Kodi update was performed by the PC and not by rasperry pi.
Then, considering that most of them were unsuccessful, I downgraded the ubuntu operating system and therefore also the version of kodi from 17 to 14

some other suggestion?
