Problems with "Hide watched" listing
#1
Hi,

Does anybody have the same problems as I'm having?

To my knowledge one of the problems (Problem 1) started when I installed V18, but I'm not entirely sure. The other one (Problem 2) has been around longer.

Problem 1 (the new and most annoying one)
When I select "Hide watched" in my movies list, it first shows only unwatched movies, but after a while (when I go in and update information on a movie for instance), it no longer shows only the unwatched movies, but all the movies. The checkbox for "Hide watched" is still checked, but all movies are displayed. At this point, it does not help to uncheck and then check the "Hide watched" box, it does nothing. Then later, when I do other changes, sometimes it works again. Arbitrary, and very annoying. The most annoying thing is that it takes quite some time for the list to update when all 2566 movies are displayed, since I have the database on an external MySQL box.

Problem 2 (slightly less annoying, but annoying nonetheless)
On those occasions when the "Hide watched" works, when I mark a movie as watched, Kodi does not position itself on the subsequent movie (as it did in previous versions, v16 I think at least), but rather jumps back to the beginning of the list. This is very annoying if you have watched a couple of movies on another platform and want to go through your list and mark the ones you have seen. It requires a lot of scrolling back and forth. This applies to both the Confluence skin and the Estuary skin.

Setup: Windows 10 with latest updates, Kodi 18.3 64-bit, Confluence skin.
Movies: Currently I have 2566 movies, 562 of which are unwatched. They all reside on my NAS, all in the same folder.

Additional info:

In Estuary, that has both "All", "Watched" and "Unwatched", it actually says that I have 2566 unwatched and 0 watched movies. Until I mark one movie as Watched, then it will update and show that I have 563 movies watched and 2003 movies watched…

I find this behavior very irrational and strange. And annoying. :/

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Despite Kodi trying to ignore this, this is a persistent and rather common problem. I have found posts dating back to the beginning of 2019. It's occurring on 17.6 on some add-ons, as well, and all add-ons on my 18.5 boxes. I saw that Kodi claimed to have fixed "Unwatched/Watched Issues" in 18.5, but clearly that isn't the case. I'm very surprised this has not been fixed. It occurs with Trakt lists, as well as Super Favorites lists. Showing ALL shows, and Hide Watched does NOT help.
