I tried to use my WebDAV Cloud as library source. My problem is that my cloud provider does only allow more than 6 parallel downloads per IP. Now I tried the following:
1.) I open the Webclient to my cloud. Then I start as much downloads as possible. 6 parallel downloads are running, the 7th does not start.
2.) I open a second browser window and try to load the Webclient. It does not load, status says "search for socket". I kill one download... the webclient loads after 5 seconds.
3.) I kill all downloads and wait 5 minutes. Then I open Kodi -> TV Shows -> Add videos... -> Browse -> Click on davs://example.com:443/remote.php/webdav -> Nothing happens -> Kodi does not react for around 10 seconds, the "Browse for new share" popup reloads.
4.) I try to oben the WebDAV cloud in my browser. It does not react. This means Kodi has still 6 parallel download connections open.
5.) I close Kodi and open the Webclient again... "search for sockets"... after 2 minutes (!) the Webclient loads. This means Kodi blocked 6 or more connections for 2 minutes altough Kodi is not open anymore. I tested this behaviour through Android and Windows.
6.) I repeat 1.). Again 6 parallel downloads are possible without problems.
This means Kodi opens more than 6 connection only by clicking on a davs:// address to display its folder structure, why?! Of course I'm not able to play movies without judder. Kodi opens and opens connections like crazy. I tried to find an option to limitate parallel connections through advancedsettings.xml, but sadly such a setting does not exist. Is Kodi a DoS app or a media player ^^
