Hi all,

Thanks for the responses so far to my questions.  I'm hoping this is a simple one to answer.  

I understand that simple movie playlists can be manually rearranged (that is, changed to an arbitrary order that does not correspond to any field such as Filename, Release Date or Title), while smart playlists can only be sorted according to metadata already existing in a field.  

Is there a way of converting smart (movie) playlists into simple ones?

If you use the "queue item" function you can create a basic playlist.

1. highlight movie, right click for Context Menu and select Queue item
2. Do this for as many movies you want, in the order you want them displayed.
3. From within the Movie library listing, pull out the Left Sideblade menu and select Go to playlist
4. Select Save
5. You can then access the basic playlist from the same location as you access the smart playlists.

If you have a Smart Playlist, you can convert it into a Basic Playlist by following steps 3, 4 and 5 when you are inside the smart playlist list of movies.
