Need help setting up AZ2 HUBs
#1
I am a big fan of Aura but wanted to take a more in depth look at AZ2.
I have never used a skin that uses Hubs as far as I know.
I do not get what they are and what they do.
I did a search for setting up AZ2 Hubs but could only fine one guide that was not at all helpful, and a bunch of piracy addon guides.

I have no idea how to use this feature.
Can someone point me to a good videguide and a few example of how Hubs are used.

Thank you.

EDIT: I figured it out with the help of a YT video. Thanks.

Can you please post the video that you found to make sense of this? Trying to figure out how to use hubs as well and failing.

I am sure there are others here more capable of explaining this than I am but here it goes.

First In Skin Settings>Home>Replace submenu with hub (is Checked)
The idea is you can create a Menu item in the hub with an associated hub widget.

Example:
I have a Hub Menu item set for Anime
I set the Submenu hub widget to Anime Recently added.

You can have multiple (Hub Menu items) with a corresponding (Submenu hub widget) in each Hub.

Focusing on the (Hub Menu item=Anime)
The Submenu hub widget=Anime Recently added is now visible
clicking/selecting (Hub Menu item=Anime) takes me to my Anime Library.
Down clicking takes me to the Submenu hub widget=Anime Recently added.

Config.
Skin Settings>Home>Customise home menu
create a new menu item
then under submenu
Choose item for menu=xxxx
the set a Submenu hub widget=xxxy

That is how i use it at present.
There is another option that i have yet to try.
I can not offer any advise on that yet.

Hope this helps good luck

I will have to try these steps and see if it can do what I want. I am trying to create an overflow type area as my home screen is too cluttered. Hopefully i can do that with this.

With a little experimentation Hubs may help.
I use emby and have many categories/playlists.
I have my AZ2 main menu items such as Films, Anime, KungFu, etc.
Then I use the Hub for each Genre Sub-categories
I also use the hub for Add-ons that relate to the main menu.

If you discover a better or interesting way to use Hubs please share here.
I am always on the lookout for ideas.

Thanks! This looks pretty good. Unfortunately it is just a bit off from my idea as I would need different widgets per menu entry.

not sure i follow? What do you have in mind?
Each sub menu item has its own widget.

How do you define a widget to the submenu? I tried and could not figure it out. Even following your instructions I fell flat... I assume you cannot add two widgets per but I can make do with one per submenu item.

In skin settings -configure main menu items, when you highlight a menu item on the left , there is a submenu widget option in the list on the right , click on it and choose your submenu preference.

I see it. It is related to having the replace submenu with hub option. Sorry for the confusion and thanks so much for the help (mxlance as well)! This is nearly what I wanted. I will just have to do without recently added for the overflow items, which is not a huge deal to get the home screen cleaned up. Honestly some of the items do not even make sense to have a widget for...
