What happened?! I looked thru the SVN and didn't see anything related to the network stuff on win32. Did I miss something? I can no browse the smb:\\ shares and add them as sources. How wonderful!

Nothing in regard to the smbclient library for windows was changed so I really can't tell what's going on

Well then that is just freaky. I did a compile late last night. I tested it today on the same HTPC that before could not browse the network. Now it can!

i think you will find that at approx 10 - 20 mins into your smb shared media, xbmc will simply close the playback screens and return to menus.

mines been doing this for last few wiso/charly installs

give it a test for yourself
