Moving items in your Library
#1
Due to really long library updates for video, I split my collection into New and Old folders for both Movies and Tv Series.  It scans much faster (I turned off the scan for the old folders via exclude from library update checkbox) and works well.  My question is, if I move something from the old folder to the new folder (because a new season was added or something) is a library update sufficient or do I need to do a clean to clear up what I removed in the old folder?

Though it seems like a bad idea from an organizational standpoint, I suppose I could leave the tv series in "old" and put just the new season in "new" and I think it would also work.

Both. Kodi stores video entries with their full paths, so a simple file move and only an update will not do.

Thanks.  Is not doing the clean just leaving stuff I cannot see a mess or is it visible (like the series will show twice and one won't play)?

Kodi's current cleaning is not 100% capable, some dirt is left behind.
But that dirt won't interfere with the 'normal operations' by Kodi.
