On the OSD when flipping through channels by the up/down arrows, is it possible to see the channel numbers to the left of the show information? 

I looked in the settings but no luck.

It will be difficult to find a place for the channel number. I'll have to take a closer look. Technically, it's not so easy to implement if I want to integrate it as an option. I can't guarantee that this will work, but I'll try
Do you have any suggestions where to place the channel number?
