IMDB lookup with strange results
#1
ive searched windows xbmc forum and doesnt seem to have been added prior.

this happens atleast for previous official trial and alpha 3.

when i scan folder for new content (using imdb, with use folder for lookup)

when it skips a rls name, and i go in to scan manually using context menu, it shows "no movie files avail" now i have stack set and the archive is in rar format.

if i then click on the rar and then click on the *.avi, i can manual scan on the file. all this section works fine. it will usually find the movie details, and if lucky display thumbs.

however when i click to parent dir, and back to root, the thumb is still blank for this rls.ive tried closing xbmx and restarting.

so i see this as being 2 x diff issues.

1) "imdb" or "set content" seems to be ignoring folder names with *.rars for parsing?? atleast as far as movie info buttons go

2) after manual scan on the *.avi, "imdb" or "set conent" is not pasring this info to the parent dir for thumbs etc.

hope this sounds clear and makes sense.

this is probably normal and correct operation, though not necessarily the way it should be. xbmc treats archives as folders so the rar file, itself, is the "folder".

but shouldnt that mean a manual scan of an avi from within a *.rar would result in the parent dir showing the thumbs?

also, another imdb problem i found is that if auto scasn finds thumbs, but for the wrong movie. when i scan it manula and change the thumb, it changes the thumb for the *.avi, but not for the folder.

in this case, the file inside the folder is *.avi

hmm, seems your right....

ive checked this operation on xbox vers and indeed it functions the same.

ok, pls let me ask you this.... how can i get the thumbs for my archives to display on the folder view? do i have to manual pinch them from imdb and place in folders?
