Solved HDMI audio extraction breaks Dolby Pro Logic?
#1
I recently installed a Blustream CMX42AB HDMI matrix with audio extraction, which is connected to my surround amplifier via S/PDIF. This works well for most content, but there is a problem with files that have an AAC encoded Dolby Pro Logic II audio track. When playing such a file I can only hear the surround effects, with no centre/dialog audio - though the amplifier still detects "ProLogic" as the source format. The same files work perfectly with an external sound card providing audio passthrough to the amp via S/PDIF or TOSLINK. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

*bump*

Has anyone here used an HDMI audio extractor to play videos with a Dolby Pro Logic soundtrack? Does/should this work?

I think I have fixed this by turning on the "Enable Dolby Digital (AC3) transcoding" option in the "Audio Passthrough" settings. I've only tried a few files so far but it seems to work!
