When a commercial comes the captions are gone and will not return. Stopping playback and retuning the channel brings them back until the next commercial.

And help ironing out reliable captions would be great.

This is an issue with Kodi. I have some channels where CC is decoded OK.

Yes, I tried nightly v19 or v20 and no subs at all.

I wish they were higher priority.

If a reliable way to reproduce is provided (I mean one that actually doesn't depend on setting up a PVR backend nor depend on a PVR backend) someone will for sure take a look at the issue.
Is a short sample which includes a region with subs before the commbreak, the commbreak and a small region with subs after the commbreak able to reproduce the issue? If so please provide a short sample and an edl file for the commbreak.

I've looked into edl for v20 and I have never seen or heard of this issue.

The problem with v20 is in embedded closed captions. They work fine in v19 yet they are all garbled in v20.

This is not related to edl comskipping specifically. In fact that was not used in my situation. I don't have a recording since this is for live tv via TVheadend PVR backend.
