Hello:

I don't know if this is happening to all users, but, with Kodi 20, in Windows 10 (64 bits), in my case, upgrading from 19.5 to 20.0, some addons like:
IPTV Simple Client
HTS Tvheadend

or

inputstream.adaptive
inputstream.ffmpegdirect
inputstream.rtmp

that I had installed and working right with 19.5, are NOT updated and, after upgrading 19.5 to 20.0, these add-ons DO NOT WORK using Kodi 20.0.

If I browse from:
Addons > Install from repository > Kodi add-on repository

the categories:
Videoplayer Iputstream
and
PVR Clients

does NOT appear in the interface.

So, I had to download and install (update for 20.0) these 5 addons "manually", downloading the addons from:
https://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/nexus/

(in my case, versions "+windows-x86_64/").

After doing this, add-ons seems to work right, but I suppose that there is some problem with the update and with the kodi add-on repository (that now shows these categories).

Kind regards

My recent problem sounds a bit like yours - I solved mine by removing Kodi and installing afresh from the Play Store.

In more detail:

Sometime in 2022, I installed Kodi on my sister's old Lenovo Android 6.x tablet. I vaguely recall it was a v19.x but can't really check now. She used it successfully to watch some streams on Crackle. (Thanks, Kodi team!)

On the evening of 16 January, I received a disappointed family support call, reporting the error message
"Inputstream.adaptive is not enabled. This add-on is required to play this content. Would you like to enable Inputstream.adaptive? Yes/No"

She replied "Yes" but the streams still refused to play. In the list of installed add-ons, each listed with a little tick/checkmark, Inputstream.adaptive was the only one with an "x".

We tried a few tricks to reinstall it, but it seemed to be missing from the option list.

Eventually we removed kodi using the Apps mechanism, and installed it afresh from the Play Store. Now it works fine. We had to redo the customisations, but they were minor.

Sorry...struggling with a long post on an old iPad.

My epistle was in reply to rohit220g's Android issue.

I might be worth mentioning that when we checked the Kodi version after the error, it reported v20. This suggests we fell victim to an incomplete automatic upgrade from the original v19 install? That is a little disappointing.

I was impressed with the various "problem-reporting" dialogues...quite informative, trying to be helpful, not too cryptic or inscrutable or panic-inducing.

Thinking about it, it seems I am describing a Nuke and Pave solution, which can be inconvenient under certain circumstances (e.g. complicated customisations), but it might be worth trying in your case?

Good luck.

I have Kodi Libreelec on RPI4 and it says inputstream has been disabled because incompatible.
This happened right after I upgraded to v20 nexus
Curious which version in the mirror website is for RPI type installation so I can upgrade

You can also try the Inputstream Helper add-on. It will download a ~1.2GB data file, from which the correct portion should be used for the RPi.

It's a bit of a handful, but it worked for me with LibreELEC some time ago.

Which option in the helper? I am not seeing any that triggers a download…

I don't know the add-on by heart (and it's been a while), but there should be an option to reinstall/reload/re-something the Inputstream from one of the menu tabs.
