Solved Intel driver issue on following mainboard?
#1
ASRock H670M-ITX/ax, with a Intel Core i5-12500
https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H670M-ITXax/index.asp (this is a 12th gen intel cpu/gpu)

Does anyone have any experience with this mainboard and make it work flawlessly with linux systems, its still a issue for me with the Atmos drop out on 4k content. (stil need to use windows for flawless playback)

This is not a issue with kodi on linux, this must be driver issue or some settings I have missed out on. Hope for someone to point me in the right direktions.

to get a little more interest in your question you could entice people with:

1. a debug log of the dropouts
2. linux flavor and version thats not working
3. things youve enabled
4. things installed
5. drivers youve tried
6. whether youve enabled non-free firmware if applicable

its an interesting question thats not regarding some weird old hardware but when people have to actually look up the board just to find out what it has the interest is probably lost

here ill even give it a kickstart with the board specs page https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H670M-ITXax/index.asp

im using pulseaudio w/realtek alc257 and i7 11th gen on debian 11 bullseye but i dont have any comparative tests that apply to you

Switch from modesetting driver to intel driver. Sadly modesetting driver has long year issue with proper vsync. Use the forum search for further info.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Sorry for not been more specific here, I have tryed out ubuntu 22.04, 20.04, 22.10, libreelec, I have on all system switched from modesetting driver to intel driver. But the problem is on all system, sound drop out on 4K content with atmos sound, on 23.97 playback mode, if i turn of sync playback to mode, so the content play at 60hz, the sound drop does not appear anymore. But as we all know, playback movie that should be at 23.97 at 60hz, is not a good experience.

here is the whole debug file if it will help

I at this moment trying out latest beta of libreelec, and Ill take notice in the debug log that it yeald following messages when the sounddrop happening:

I dont think this is actually a kodi problem at all, becouse this work flawlessly on windows with kodi. I think the windows intel driver maybe is abit better at this moment..
I dont have any problem of using windows at this moment untill linux intel driver will be better for newer intel gpu/cpu prossesors.. But that day it come, and I again can use linux based system, I will remove windows that instant.

Well, its not worries about this, I have used linux system for many years, and come to peace with it.
when your favorite system is linux en general you have to be pations when you buy brand new hardware, most of things been done on linux operating system is based on open minded and amazing people who does this on there spare time. This is the same with kodi.

I just have to wait untill the driver for gen12 for linux is mature enought, and are 100% sure that day will come. Until then I just have to have sleepnes night knowing i have 1 windows box running...  Tongue

right on
yes same experience, unfortunately, gaming drives graphics sales, game developers develop for windows and hardware developers follow the game developers

Did found a solutions that im happy with. The solutions for my part came from following forum post https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=372242.
it was as simple to set setting on my Denon in following place Setup / Video / 4K/8K Signal Format and change the format from "Enhanced" to "Standard".

one other thing i noticed was that the sound picture got wider and better. (not that the sound was bad....)

I know this will in future be fixed, but im happy that i can use linux based system.
