How best to tweak my video quality LG C9 (LibreElec 11)
#1
Hey All,

Been using Kodi for years, just recently been running some HDR video through LibreElec on my NUC 10i3. The video plays fine but then when i played the same file through my TVs inbuilt video player the video quality looks just a million times better. The colours pop, the blacks look better etc etc.
I've set my TV settings to be exactly the same between both the TV player and the Kodi input but i'm wondering how people actually set their Kodi instance up.

Any tips are much appreciated!

is the file youre playing by chance a Dolby Vision file?

i have the same experience with dolby vision vs. HDR10+, DV is way crisper and i know libreelec does not do dolby vision so this is perhaps the difference youre seeing when playing using the built-in player

Nope its a normal HDR file - HDR logo pops up on my TV and not the (DV) logo in the top right when playing it through my TV or through Kodi. I'm going to try and get a log see if that helps.

Ok here's the full Kodi log - Hoping someone is able to see something i can't to make the video just pop a little more like it does on my TV
