if the source folder shows to be empty when trying to copy

kodi might not have permission to that location, try copying to a common location, perhaps /sdcard so kodi can copy it

if that does not work then you are stuck because you are unable to access kodi's folder and kodi is unable to access your folder

Where are those files stored? Locally on the Android external storage? Or somewhere on a network share? Does the font file maybe have foreign/strange characters in the name?

Also, did you set the file access permissions for the Kodi app in the Android settings to "Always allow" ?

The font file already on both internal and external hard drive.

No name in English

And yes Kodi has full access for my storage locations

I have the same problem with my new Mi Box S 2nd gen , it's using Google TV 11 and tried all the mentioned above with no luck.

i always get Permission denied while trying to create or push the font file.

is there any workaround for this ? can i change the path where kodi load the font file from to my external storage as example ?
use the kodi file manager as it has permission to its own folder - https://kodi.wiki/view/File_manager

using the 'add source' put in special://userdata so you dont have to guess where android has put the kodi folder - https://kodi.wiki/view/Special_protocol

step by step
  1. open settings
  2. open file manager
  3. click add source
  4. click where is says '<None>'
  5. enter the path special://userdata
  6. click OK
  7. open the left side to the source where the font is located
  8. open the right side to the userdata folder you just added
  9. on the left long press on the file for the context menu
  10. select copy
  11. select yes to confirm copy

Everything is fine excepts step 5, the path should be "special://home"

I've succeeded, thanks a lot!

Thumbs Up
thank you for your guidance!!! @izprtxqkft @tonyhsie
Yes, the Fonts folder should in the root of `special://home`, which means that in Andriod, its `Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/Fonts`.

Though a lot of guidance says that the path should be `Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/media/Fonts`, this path is not work for me. IDK is this caused by the version i'm using is v21.1
