Hello,

I have mkv files with cover.jpg attached files. Is it any way for Kodi to extract that jpg file and use it as thumbnail for the mkv video file?

I have also tried by saving a picture file with the same name that mkv file, just it is a jpg file, but kodi dont use it neither. 

I have read that it can be done by creating a folder for each mkv file and saving a poster.jpg file inside, but I would like to avoid it

single folder movies -

my.awesome.movie.2004.1080p.mkv
my.awesome.movie.2004.1080p-poster.jpg

movies in subfolders -

movies/my.awesome.movie.2004/
movies/my.awesome.movie.2004/my.awesome.movie.2004.1080p.mkv
movies/my.awesome.movie.2004/poster.jpg

Adding -poster to jpg filename solved the problem. Thank you very much!
