Library movie info override?
#1
Hey guys,

I thought I asked this before but I didn't find it so maybe it was just on IRC - anyway I don't remember getting an answer so I'll post again (maybe, hehe).

My file structure has a few folders containing 500+ movies, each movie with a corresponding nfo file. Each nfo file has a single line in it - the IMDB address. I build my library 100% from the information scraped from IMDB, I couldn't hope to start downloading images and building nfos for all of my movies.

That said, some of the movies I would like to change the title of. Is there a way to have a movie use scraped info for all fields except for what I manually specify? I tried briefly last night and it seems that I either need to scrape everything from imdb or else specify everything in the nfo. There are benefits to having everything scanned from imdb so I'd rather just override the one thing that needs to be changed, but if that's not possible I guess I'll have to consider creating full nfo/images for those movies. Is there any way to export the current library info from the database to standalone files (nfo containing all cast/etc, poster thumb, actor thumbs...)? It seems very tedious to go through and add the whole cast (incl thumbnails) to the nfo along with all the other information, this will take me forever.

I did notice there's that Media helper app that can create nfo files from IMDB, but it only scrapes the first page worth of cast members which is a step backwards from the XBMC scraper.

What's the commonly accepted solution for this situation? Surely I can't be the only one who renames his foreign films ;-P

Thanks,

Nic

Use context menu, "Settings", "Export library" - this exports library to an xml file. Then use this S/ware here to create single nfo files for each movie

Or...use Media Companion to rebuild from scratch (same site as above)
