Bug Kodi freezes randomely when starting content from synology nas
#1
Exclamation
Hi all!

When I start kodi and I wait too much to start a video file from a synology nas (in the same network), kodi freezes for several minutes. Usually it takes a restart and fast moving through the menus to reach the video then play it.

However, if I let a video on pause, I can leave kodi running for days, no problems, as I clic on play, the video start playing without any issue..

So basically I keep kodi on random videos paused all the time, and when I need to watch something else, I use an android app to select the video and start it.. Which is far from ideal..

I followed all the forum and wiki pages I could find on the subject, but even with proper synology configuration, it doesn't work..

I think it tries to start the synology nas, wait for an answer, but the packet get lost in some ways, and wait inefinitively.

Can someone help?

Thanks!

How are you accessing the media on the NAS? (SMB, NFS, FTP, something else?).

Does your NAS power down and require waking up to provide the media, or is it always on?

Can you gather a debug log (wiki) of it happening?

I have all my media on such a NAS (a 1019+) and don't see anything like this on mine.
