Hi guys and gals,

I seem to be getting Runtime Errors whenever i try and instal XBMC on my PC. I have tried 2 machines and get the same error.

They seem to be the same error as the two examples below but I cannot seem to correct the error.

I have update all my drivers and still nothing! (Nvidia GeGorce Go 6800)

Either the upgrade went wrong or you tried to output via another interface where your card don't support OpenGL.

You probably need to install the nvidia drivers instead of the default microsoft drivers.

It must have been a typo...

Although thie file sources.xml does not actually exist in the stated location. Could this be the error?

Hmmm that sucks, i cannot even upgrade my card as i am using a laptop!!!!!

The problem is the GL drivers. You're probably running it over remote desktop or something.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.

Hi J, I am not running it over a remote desktop just a plain dell laptop.

I have just reinstalled the software though an am no longer getting the runtime error. Now the standard "XBMC has stopped working" come up straight away.

Does it matter that the below file does not exsist?

No. The problem (again) is that you have the crappy Microsoft GL drivers.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

Try to get them from Nvidia's site. I wouldn't trust Dell any further than I can throw them.

I tries the Nvidia site but bloody drivers are tied in with Dell and refuse to work, fortunatly i managed to hack the driver and install it manually!!!

I AM WORKING NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also had the error and xbmc didnt start. my log also showed:

My problem was that i had windows on 16bit colours instead of 32bit so after that is all worked fine, i dont know how or why my colour depth was set so low but it might be good to put this in the faq so that people can check it and save us alot of time bug tracing Smile
