Hi. I have a Fire Stick 4k Max. If I pause a video and the device goes to sleep or the screensaver comes on, Kodi 21 will lose all sound when I return. The only way to get sound back is to close Kodi and reopen it.  This never happened with Kodi 20.  Anyone else having this issue?  I saw someone else mention this issue in the hardware thread @ https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=364384&page=13.

I'm getting the exact same behavior on the 4k Max, with Kodi 20.4. I didn't have this problem on the old Fire TV 4k or my other fire tv stick using the same build.

Did you ever figure out how to stop this from happening?

Disable screensaver and then use adb to disable sleep mode is a temp fix

Sleep causes kodi audio passthrough engine to stop working until kodi is restarted.

You need to enable ambient mode to disable standby
