Linux Kodi on Ubunt
#1
I installed Ubuntu on my NUC today. Everything went well, but now I wanted to install Kodi, which doesn't work at all. I have found various installation instructions on the net, but they all lead to the same result: Kodi crashes either after a short time or immediately on startup. At the moment it is no longer possible to start the programme, not even after a new installation. I haven't used Kodi for some time and am now wondering if it has stopped working? And if so, is there a sensible alternative under Linux?

First of all...Kodi works pretty fine on linux. I'm using it nearly daily on LibreELEC and/or Fedora. Ubuntu is one of the most compatible OSs for Kodi.

Could you please tell us how you installed Kodi on Ubuntu? Currently the Kodi PPA is not maintained anymore. So you either installed Kodi via the Ubuntu/Debian sources (the default skin should show "Kodi for Debian" or something like that), via Flatpak or you compiled it yourself.

For being s more helpful, it would be nice if you could tell us about the way you installed Kodi. To get a deeper inside from the issues you might see, we also will need a Debug Log.

It works now. I can’t say what the problem was.
