Android V21.0 Video player controls do not show
#1
I run Kodi 21.0 on a ChromeCast with Android TV 12 kernel v. 4.9.269

I use it to access a collection of video files (mostly .avi and .mkv) on a DLNA server on the home network.

When playing back some of the files (couldn’t identify a pattern, sorry) the video controls do not appear; I only have the square «Stop» control and the pan bar doesn’t work.

With other files the video controls appear (pause, back, fwd) and I can pan forward and backward along the video.

I have searched for solutions and tried some – no luck.

Any suggestions?

Hi GreyCat!

Hello, I have the same problem. Were you able to resolve this issue?

I have the same issue since the last update on the Nvidia Shield Pro. The player controls only show up when pressing the center key (or 'M') on some videos and not others. This makes it impossible to access subtitles and the video controls. I see no pattern in on which videos it shows or not. I cannot stop or exit a video while it is playing when the controls don't show. Never had this issue before. I have the Shield Pro and using the OEM remote. Anyone else have this, or found a work around?

Default skin? Local playback, streaming, or Live TV?

Using Aeon Nox skin on a local Synology NAS. I tested several files last night and only full screen files did not show controls, all letterbox files did, so I assume the controls are behind the full screen. So on a full screen video I pressed the player control, moved left one click (exit) and selected OK, and the movie quit correctly. Checked all of my skin settings to be sure an update didn't change something but all looked OK, I haven't made any changes in months. I will have more time to look at it this weekend.
