Problems playing .TS videos recorded on an Android Phone
#1
Hi i'm running one of Garbears Retroplayer builds and also a test version of a skin that throws up a ton of warnings hence i've not posted my full log.
I've attached a GIST here though: https://gist.github.com/sunlollyking/1c3...120fbda105
Just trying to play some home movies i recorded with my Google Pixel 7 Pro last year. I can see they are .TS videos and it looks like FFMPEG is throwing up a ton of errors. I thought this would be standard but i guess not.

Happy to provide more info. Currently Kodi is in a boot loop just continuing to try and play this over and over in a slideshow.

You renamed them to mp4 ... if they are TS files you should not do that. Thanks to your fully cut logfile ... no one can most likely help you.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I've not renamed any files. They're videos from my phone. Didn't need to change the file extension and they play via upnp through my TVs player.

I only took out what I thought was the relevant bit of the log because it's huge huge without.

Oh interesting. I see what you mean.

So this is strange and it must be something the phone is doing for some unexplained reason?

That said does the double extension cause problems in Kodi ?

Yeah after doing some digging. All pixels when you save as x265 add .ts.mp4 as file extensions.

Is this not a valid extension because the videos do play through Google photos. Just not Kodi. Aware it's a weird format.

It's perfectly valid - but a TS is not an mp4 - so what is it? How about posting a sample somewhere?

So these were files on my PIxel 6 pro - I now have the 8 pro so can't replicate by creating a new one.
Looking at this https://support.google.com/pixelphone/th...-mp4?hl=en

TS looks like it refers to topshot, one of the phones features which whilst great on the phone does make adding all this extra data a nightmare for trying to get non google devices to properly interpret them.
