Vistax64 Boot Fullscreen Issue

Hi,

Having a problem with XBMC booting to fulllscreen. I have had boot windowed, at a low resolution, i then went into the settings and changed the display size to 1280x768 (Fullscreen) - the native size of my screen.

Then, when I closed XBMC and rebooted it, it attempts to open but hangs before the skin has loaded. The point at which it hangs, all I can see is 1) the clock in corner 2) the mouse in the middle of the screen.

When I click the mouse XBMC crashes. The following is from the log file and appears to be the first mention of any error:

Use the default skin and try to reproduce it. Otherwise we can't tell if it's the skin or we.

I have managed to get the default skin to load by deleting Roaming->XBMC folder, but it will only run WINDOWED. If i try to run it via the shortcut in the start menu or by going through program files to the app, it will only load the the background pic with the shark on it. At this point, there is nothing else on the screen, and a mouse click crashes it back to windows!

Any ideas? Be glad to offer more info if you can tell me what to look for.

Just try a clean install. Then go to settings->system and enable the debug log. Try to let it crash again, upload the logfile to pastebin and post a link here.

Right, tried a clean install. Opened up windowed and set to 1280x768(fullscreen) my screen res. The test at this point works fine and the skin looks great.

Then closed and rebooted xbmc. Same thing happens again. Crashes on the home backdrop with the shark on it.

Unfortunately the log shows just the exception and now unusual error before. Could you please check for C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\UserData\RssFeeds.xml and if it includes a valid rss url?

it doesn't exist. Do I need to create it, or delete the reference from somewhere else possibly?

Take it from xbmc installation directory C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\userdata\RssFeeds.xml and copy it to C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\UserData\RssFeeds.xml and try again.

Done that. nothing changes. Still crashes. Funny thing is, if i open it windowed, there is no problem.

But if i then switch it fullscreen from being in windowed, when a video finishes, it jumps back to windowed. odd.
