Welcome to the development process.  Normally being open source I would invite you to submit a PR to address this but instead I will ask you to participate in the testing. Changing channels list and updating EPG's is time consuming and since this has not been a major issue, users have been happy to exit and reset the PVR database when absolutely necessary, I will only do basic testing.

I will not release this change without significant testing and feedback from you.  It will also only be in the Piers branch.  Here is the PR https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.nextpvr/pull/275  where you need to provide link to logs and any problem reporting that you may have.  This thread can be closed as we can now discuss it on GitHub.  The logs need to be Kodi debug logs which will show the triggers are happening in sequence (or not).  You also need to follow Kodi rules on the debug log content.

Here are the compiled binaries https://jenkins.kodi.tv/blue/organizatio.../artifacts for many platforms.  Feel free to compile your own changes and make suggestions to the base PR.  It has not passed review by Kodi Team either so there may be other changes
Thanks for opening the Github PR. Unfortuantely, I will not be able to use Piers, since a couple of my other required addons will not be compatible. You can close the PR for now - and I will reopen it when I'm able to run Piers. Thanks again for the quick response.

I believe you run Windows so you can have multiple portable versions for testing.  Welcome to the development process you see what we have to go through.  If I close it I may not come back since if Kodi doesn't work in sequence it might be too late for a Piers core change when/if you are ready.

Perhaps move to Linux and try TVHeadend.

I don't want to waste your time - so please close the PR. When I go to Piers, I may make this request again - and hopefully you will indulge. I will try out TVH in the mean time.

Unlikely since I will be putting you on my ignore list.  I choose to reply to you on the NextPVR forum and here and that is on me but the ignore list is the only way I will avoid any temptation to try and help you in the future.  Coding aside, I've already spent more time replying to you then I expected from your testing so I can't be bothered with users who take but won't give.

The good news is I do see merit in this and will rework it, since I saw other things I should be doing, then I get do a better PR in Piers where others will test it and you will be able to take from their effort too.

Wow! What a sad attitude. I wasn't saying I couldn't test ever - just not now based on my circumstances.
Re: "users who take..but won't give" : Just because I can't do it on your schedule - you get this negative. You can be sure I won't be contacting you again.  I'm also sorry now that I donated twice to your software.
