I have been thinking of building a head unit for my truck utilizing a touch screen and repurposing the guts of an old desktop. My idea would be to use a simple version of linex with kodi has the main software as the radio main screen. One of my problems is my phone is an iPhone and since kodi is android based, I don’t think they play nice together.
I would like to have access to an xm ap, navigation, telephone calls, fm radio and possibly access to an sdr through Cody. Is this possible? Also, is there a way to get an iPhone to work with kodi? I am not a tech expert, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

just buy an android head unit and be done with it

there is an abundance of 10" ones and some people are even making "tesla" style ones where it's a massive screen
benefit, they're already head units with navigation, xm and fm radio plus features like CarPlay and Android Auto which Kodi doesn't do
some even have sim card capability with wifi hotspot so you can have apps access the internet and provide in car internet to your devices like a modern vehicle does
