What current hardware is available that can do 3d framepacked output?

searched all over and not found a definitive answer.

am i right in thinking that kodi will re-encode sbs to framepacked on the fly and output as framepacked if the device (and tv / projector) support it?

Um, did you look at this thread? H/w that can do framepacked output w/Kodi:
- Ugoos AM6B+ w/CoreELEC (but, a few titles suffer from AmLogic's macroblocking bug in their MVC decoder; unlikely to get fixed)
- A S905X4 box w/CoreELEC (see boxes referenced in thread above)
- Vero V (a S905X4 box w/similar Linux-based OS like CoreELEC; same AmLogic MVC decoder bug)
- Dune HD Real Vision 4K or 4K Plus (or another Dune box w/Realtek's RTD1619DR SoC (these are getting harder to find) (Kodi needs to be set-up to use external player)
- Zidoo Z9X or Z9X Pro (Need to use ZDMC, Zidoo's Kodi fork)

My recommendation is Dune HD Real Vision 4K or 4K Plus (or another RTD1619DR box) if you can find one.
