Hi!

I recently bought an Android Tv and installed Kodi 21. Everythings works very well; I even connected a network drive so I can watch the family videos I have there.

The problem is that some of these are very old and are coded using the Xvid codec. There won't play. A black screen shows up and the cursor keeps swirling until I decide to stop the playback.

Is this the normal behaviour? I have Kodi also on Windows and Linux and this does not happen. I guess that the Android TV version of Kodi does not support as many codecs as it does for other platforms...

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.
