one thing that i like about windows media player is the album art that it uses, this is also used as folderart when browsing the filesystem.
i would dearly like to see this feature added. almost as much as and "add to current playlist" button that would believe it or not add the current directory / sub directories contents to the current playlist.

i too would very very much like this feature. while in xbmp i have album art for some albums. i did this by creating a file called foldername.tbn, this doesn't however work for me in xbmc, using the same relax shares that work in xbmp.
but, i think what rshears is getting at and and i know i would like to see is xbmc look for a file called folder.jpg (after it tried the standard method above of foldername.tbn)
i know everyone isn't on windows, and everyone doesn't have the same organization for their music files, but windows media player, musicmatch, other rippers, and the windows xp and me file systems all look for a file called folder.jpg to either display album art, or display a thumbnail in the explorer window for each folder. in my estimation there are probably lots of us who have this setup. so it would seem natural that xbmc could just use this resource that is often already present on many systems for the album art.
i believe the folder.jpg file placed there by many mp3 ripping programs is standardized at 170x170 pixels, so it would be nice to have xbmc resize it to whatever it needs like 64x64.
this feature would make it so folks would not have to create an additional tbn file for each album they have, go through the work of copying the folder.jpg file to foldername.tbn, and resizing these all to 64x64. that can get to be a ton of work depending on the number of albums one has, not to mention the clutter of all the extra files.
