ID3 tags and album art not working
#1
i have id3 tags enabled, and i can tell that xbmc is reading them becuase there is a pause when entering a directory with mp3s. but even though it is reading them it is not using them, it's just displaying the filename instead.
i've created thumbs for my albums in the same format as the thumbs for xbmp, and then put them in xbmc's thumbs folder, but they don't show up when i view the folders contaning the albums. i also tried putting the individual .tbn files into the corresponding album folder, and that didn't work either.
should thumbs be working this way, i suppose i'm just assuming that they're set up the same way as xbmp? i'm not using the music database btw.

edit: just to confirm that i've just tried them in the latest cvs build (17/11) and they're definitely broken.

try the mediacenter skin instead of the hifi skin

i've always been using the mediacenter skin.

i've worked out why none of the id3 tags in my mp3s were working.
foobar2000 had written all of the id3v2 tags with the utf-16 character set, i had to set it to rewrite them all with the iso-8859-1 charset to make them readable by xbmc.

although now that my tags are compatible with xbmc and show correctly in the file listing, the scrolling song title at the bottom still always show the filename instead of the tags.

plus, "guns 'n' roses - november rain" is hardcoded in to xbmc. i'm sure this was just added to test something at some point, but it's still in there (guifadelabelcontrol.cpp). if i change the skin while a song is playing the scrolling song title changes to gun 'n' roses november rain.
