Hi,
I've been trying to improve the boot up speed of my Linux XBMC box and have come to the realisation that there is nothing I can do because at least half the boot time is spent going through the BIOS.
Is anyone aware of any motherboards which blaze past their BIOS quickly? I have an old Shuttle SS50G (I think that's the model) and that goes so quickly that it's almost as if it didn't have a BIOS at all. in fact it boots into Windows XP in around 10 seconds from power off (not standby, that's about 1 second to sleep and 2 seconds to wake).
Don't they make BIOS's like this anymore?
Regards,
Michal
