XBMC System requirements? Bad picture quality!
#1
Hi,

I have a HTPC with:

Motherboard: GA-E7AUM-DS2H (rev. 1.0) with NVIDIA GeForce 9400 chipset
CPU: Intel Duo Core 3GHz
Ram: 4 Gig ram
OS: Vista

Still when using HDMI output from PC connected to my Samsung the picture is "choppy" when playing movies. Even "ripped" dvd movies are choppy!

Do I need to upgrade the hardware?:confused2:

I knew a friend of mine had problems with Windows XP and his Sony Bravia where he had to enable an option ... I can't remember what it was, but maybe you'll find something in your TV menu...

PS: I'll ask him if I see him again.

the problem is vista and XBMC without GPU acceleration
try XBMC 9.11 live, it should work flawless on your hardware

if you must stay with windows, upgrade to win7 and follow the instructions to get DXVA in XBMC or get the boxee beta
OpenElec Standalone --> Asus Chromebox 'Panther' --> Onkyo TX-NR709 --> Sony 55" X85C Android TV (also with Kodi!)
Asus Chromebox EZ Script
Kodi on Sony Bravia Android TVs
