MPEG multichannel possible?

hi everyone.

i know that for u.s. dvds, ac3 is decodeable on xbmc, but i was wondering, for european dvds, is mpeg multichannel decoding possible (euro [region 2] dvds use mpeg multichannel instead of ac3)? the reason i am asking is because i am planning on making a 5.1 svcd, which uses mpeg multichannel, and since xbmp is the only thing in my house that can play 5.1 media files (ps2 plays only dvd, but xbox can run xbmp to load the file, since the dashboard dvd player doesnt detect vcd/svcd), i was wondering if it was possible to decode mpeg multichannel.

::edit:: really confusing wording 1st time.

only a few euro dvds use mpeg multichannel audio. imho 99% got ac3 audio. some has pcm and dts tracks also.

in dvd standards it was proposed that eurodvd=mpeg audio and us dvd=ac3 audio. thank god that did not happen!

oh...never knew that....

but anyways, i want to use mpeg multichannel for svcds, but i wanna know if xbmc decodes mpeg multichannel, or if it passes it onto the reciever has a stereo mpeg stream.

heres a link to the site that tells you how to create 5.1 svcds:
