Thanks for the new version. In XBMC 13 Alpha1 (10 feb. 2013) I press DFatmo (under Programs), I see the "service stopped" message but when I play any videofile the lights are ON...

Thanks again and regards.

Could not reproduce your problem. Please verify your installed version of dfatmo. It should be at least 0.3.2.
I encounter a problem when using ZIP file based installation in xbmc. If there exists a older version of the dfatmo
zip file under addons/packages (package cache) this one will get installed instead of the selected one!

Fixed script error when stopping service while video is running in XBMC addon.

Hi,

my intention with the red zone is that colors will be detected only in the red zone.

I would like to get color detection close as possibly can to the edge of the screen.

Or am I missing something on How DFAtmo detects the colors?

P.S

I added DFAtmo to my favorites menu which i can launch anytime because I mapped the favorites menu
to button on my remote, When launching DFAtmo from the favorites it seem that it tries to start a new instance
Instead of stop/start the service. is this a bug?
Thanks.

This is configured with the two parameter edge_weighting and weigth_limit.

The weight is a factor that is calculated for each pixel position of the analyse image
which determine how much a pixel color influence the calculated color for the corresponding
area:

weight = distance of pixel to border (0 ... 1) ^ (edge_weighting / 10)
if weight < (weight_limit / 255) then weight = 0

To get a small zone the following values are suitable:

edge_weighting: 10
weight_limit: 220

Well i never tested this. But if xbmc started a new instance it is a bug of xbmc.

Hi,

Since version 0.3.3 I have a problem with the colors, They are not really matching the screen.
Is there a way to get version 0.3.2?

Or maybe "tune" DFAtmo?

I am using Amblone.

Thanks,
Komar

There are no changes in color calculation between 0.3.2 and 0.3.3.

You can download older versions of dfatmo from github:
https://github.com/durchflieger/DFAtmo

Click on "Tags" link. Then select zip or tar download of the version you want.
Within the downloaded archive you find a ready to install zip xbmc addon file for windows.

During playback of a video dfatmo checks the timestamp of "settings.xml" every second
and reloads the configuration if timestamp changed.
Changes will be visible after closing the plugin setup dialog or by storing/touching the
file with external tools like text editor.

Of course doing a white calibration for your led stripe is mandatory to have correct colors.

How do I do the white calibration of the led stripe?
Reply
Hi,

I just did the LED strip calibration on WIndows, Here's how:

1. Played this Youtube video, 10 minutes and 1 second of white screen.
2. Turned XBMC to window mode by pressing "\".
3.Edited DFAtmo settings.xml values with Notepad++:
wc_red - Controles red color, Values 0-255
wc_green - Controles greeen color, Values 0-255
wc_blue - Controles blue color, Values 0-255
Because DFAtmo checks the settings file every second and reloads the configuration if timestamp changed
The LED strip colors change in real-time so you can get the white you want.

After doing the calibration the colors are correct and DFAtmo looks GREAT!

Thanks durchflieger for your help, It is much appreciated.

Hi,

a new version 0.3.4 of DFAtmo is ready for download.
There is now support for VDR 2.x. See README file.

I have tested DFAtmo against XBMC V12.1 Frodo and it run's fine.
Note that DFAtmo support for V12.0 is broken. You should use V12.1 instead.

I have no idea whats going wrong. Please delete folder "addon/script.dfatmo" and "userdata/addon_data/script.dfatmo" and reinstall
DFAtmo. Under Windows after installation of zip file within xbmc the plugin is not shown under Programms.
I have to restart xbmc and then it works fine.
Reply
when i install it within XBMC it does under the name DFAtmo-0.3.4 not like you mentioned above.
i tried copying the files directly in a directory names script.dfatmo but that didnt work.
when i try to start the add-on i get a message saying " Loading native atmodriver failed: no module named atmodriver" maybe this might help.
i am on Wn7 and using Amblone

thanks for the quick reply
