Release [Helix-Isengard] WiMM - Web interface Media Manager for Kodi
(2015-05-09, 13:01)uNiversal Wrote: You guys that experience this problem, should read https://github.com/slash2009/XWMM/wiki/F...at-do-i-do

Then provide some better information to work with.

OK...I've cleared the cache...completely deleted WIMM and even the repository...reinstalled the repository and installed 5.03 and still getting the endless blue circle. When I click on the about link it loads up fine and under Kodi satest "not connected" When I hit F12 I get the following error..

WebSocket connection to 'ws://192.168.1.107:9090/jsonrpc' failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 200

Which is odd because I wasn't using 9090 I was using the default 80 and even tried 81. I then changed it to 9090 just to see and that didn't work either.

I installed Isengard earlier in the week into a new directory to test as I always do and even though I selected No on the migrate option it still deleted my old working Helix install with my working WIMM. This is my preferred addon to edit Genres without exporting a bunch of nfo files and with the new install I can't fix my genres.

The preceding was extra info in case their is something that I forgot to do in the new install.

Forgot to mention ... using Chrome. also tried Internet Explorer and same blue circle.
OMG! This is such a great plugin! Why is it not part of Kodi's repository? Weird.

FYI, if you are using Isengard, you need to install 4.1.19

https://github.com/uNiversaI/WIMM/releas...4.1.19.zip

Again, why is 4.1.19 not on github? Weird.
Its not on Kodi repo due to not being a fully stable and finished addon. So not weird.

Please do not refer to my fork https://github.com/uNiversaI/WIMM for any code, releases or anything for public usage, in fact Im deleting it to avoid confusion with upstream https://github.com/slash2009/XWMM

Ive no idea whats going on with releases anymore, Im not in control of them anymore, fyfe is, and you should all refer to fyfes releases he makes on thread.

Fyfe may very well become upstream maintainer but hes a busy person, I cant grab him anywhere to discuss anything useful regarding the project aside from github, a less than ideal situation for sure.

See from http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid1973475 onwards.

Ill try to update main post when I have time if I can figure out what the heck is going on.

Ive done all I can to keep this project alive, in fact I resurrected it without being a developer or even a user, but with a lack of active developers and where no one is dedicated to this project in a significant way, the future afaik is uncertain.
Hi,

Is there any solution for 5.0.3 error? I saw others have the same problem like me.

Error_1
Error_2
Error_3
In Kodi you guys should enable allow control by apps on this system to control kodi and allow apps on other systems to control kodi
I just do not understand; 4.x working 5.x not working, and the Kodi runs on the same system.
Which ports or java settings or other thing need to enable to the working?
I cleared the browser thing, try, ie, chrome, opera...
Reset the Kodi system firewall, enable web interface WIMM-ng. etc.
You need to enable what I said as well as selecting the interface. 4x doesnt have websockets support
So, I tried localhost:8080, and its working on my KODI system pc
Next i tried other pc http://ip:8080, and not working.
Where and how can i enable json-rp or webshock, that the 5.x WIMM works in other pc in my home network?
That is, what I do not understand exactly: "should enable allow control by apps on this system to control kodi and allow apps on other systems to control kodi"
Because the web interface working on kodi pc, and not working other pc in my home network...
Ok, go back to 4.x

I fed up with 5.x.

Well a majority of addons in the Kodi repo don't work, so why leave this one out! It is in fact a lot better then the ones they have now. Smile

Anyway, thanks for the info, I've caught up with the development. My suggestion for the first post, because that is where new users look, is to add these links....

Latest Version of 4.x - Final for Isengard - http://kodi.neptune-one.net/isengard/

Latest Version of 5.x - The New Rebuild - https://github.com/fyfe/WIMM-ng/releases
Submitting an addon to Kodi repo is like walking on fire, dive into a volcano, jump into a meet grinder and eating the result of your own self.
That's a nice supporting idea!
uNiversal, any bad experience? i am thinking to bring my addon into the kodi repo, as soon as my code isn't that bad anymore, and i sovled some cross platform issues.

so you would recomend to go to alternative repos?
Check out my plugin yarc, it's a web-remote optimised for all screen sizes (especially touch and small screen).
Up to you, if its in a working condition and meets the addons requirements for submission (documented on wiki) then try it.
I've been using the web interface to correct the IMDb identifier for incorrectly identified movies.
This seems to work as clicking "View on IMDb" brings up the page corresponding to the new identifier.
However, the rest of the movie information does not update.
How can I cause an update of the rest of the information from the web interface?
