What ranges do you want to trigger on? I'll take care of the core part of the home_automation.py and post it as a branch on the home automation github

The common aspect ratios are 1.33, 1.77, 2.35, 2.40. I'm not sure which ones your masking system will need..

Not going to make a home_automation.py with adjustable settings. This module was/is meant to be added to by the user to make things happen, based on position of the playlist.

After I get a the next version out, I'll look into providing the core communications to the bridge.

New to the forum, so please be easy on me. Happy to see this thread is at least active still.

I'm having an issue with my newly installed XBMC where it jumps to the music visualizations during the trivia/slide show segment. It happens as one song ends and the next starts I just pasted a copy of a Christmas album into the audio folder and pointed the script there.

Running Frodo with the Aeon Nox skin. Everything was downloaded and installed yesterday so it should all be current. I'll post a log if this isn't a simple solution, but I don't know much about programming and I figured this was an idiots problem. I tried a keyword search of this thread and google but have come up empty.

As a side question, I was messing around with trying to figure out how to exclude a directory path from showing up in the complete movie list. I have a folder of anime that has its own menu item through a custom playlist. I just want to exclude that folder from the list that opens when I hit Cinema. Nothing nasty; just don't want my kids playing Akira while looking for Disney movies.

Well, I appear to have solved my own problem. I had sometime to mess with the settings tonight and the culprit was the screensaver/dim kicking on as well as the "show visualization if music is playing" setting.

Turned it off, bumped the screensaver time to 25m, problem solved.

My kids loved movie night tonight with this by the way. Open thank you to everyone who is involved in this addon and maintaining the wiki and files. I was able to get this up and running very quickly thanks to all the info and links.

In Frodo the only work around is what you found(changing screensaver timing) Gotham's version will disable the screensaver then restore it afterwards.

I only provided methods that are common to all skins. Special Library 'Paths' are not simple to set up.

Hello all,
I have been avoiding posting here because I believe in "help yourself" first. But it's been a week now and i can't figure out my problems with the Trivia. Everything else works great, intros, trailers and what not, but the trivia does not want to kick in, regardless of what I do. It just skips over either slides or Q&A, and goes straight into the next trigger.
I just, not two minutes ago, finally got the stills to work. I set them to a max of two minutes. But the end of that time, XBMC locks up solid. Nothing works. Dead. I have to physically kill the process.

Now, that was with the stills, If I select the Movie Quiz, then it just skips the entire Cinema EX, and the movie won't even play. It is back to the main menu.

So, any ideas? I am cool with python and xml's and all that, I just don't quite grasp the inner working of the add-on and XBMC to figure out what could be going on.

First logs should not be posted on the forums, links to logs posted on pastebin or xbmclogs should be used.

Second, the next release is coming soon and this is fixed.

My apologies, I could have sworn I have seen others here say, "without logs we can't help you". So, I was just trying to be pro-active and save time by not having to ask for them. It won't happen again.

I think it's more of an issue with how the logs are posted. It's helpful to have a link to your uploaded log file, but it clouds up the thread if you post the entire (or even a paired down) log to the thread.

Hi, I would use Cinema EX like this...hope, somebody could give me brief helf, cause for me the descriptions here are much complicated

I already installed Cinema EX in my skin.
What I have to do now?
Questions:

- My Movie DB is not based on folders for each single Movie >>> is this a problem? Will Cinema EX not work with single Movie file structure?
Otherwise I must reorganize my whole DB complete new incl. manual scraping for own genre/rating settings.

- I would use Cinema EX like: "first start a own defined THX, DTS or Dolby-Trailer and afterwards start the movie"
Is this manually defined for each single movie?
What would be the settings in the Addon Configuration?

- In order to start in my example 1. defined DTS/THX/Dolby Trailer and 2. start the movie:
Where I have to start this sequence? Under Movie Info "CinemaEX"?
If yes: Is there another easier way in order to start "as normal" a movie in XBMC an the describted sequence would automatic happen?

Hi,

So far I'm loving CE. The only concern I got is that I'm not able to got CE to play trailers of the movies I've in my movie collection. I understand that Apple trailers addon just play trailers from recent/popular movies. I don't know if there's a workaround or if I must use a plugin that scan my collection and download the trailers to a local folder, and then I setup CE accordingly. Any suggestions?
