When adding any item to Favourites, in order that it can then be selected and added to a SubMenu list, or an AddOn list, thereafter (ie: once it is already added on the SubMenu/AddOn list) the item can then be deleted from the Favourites without affecting any functionality (ie: it still works from the SubMenu/AddOn list).
This is incredibly useful, since it means items can be added only temporarily to Favourites, in order to get them into one of the other lists, and thereafter deleted, retaining a nice and tidy 'proper' favourites list. It's even more useful if you are using the Favourites widget, since none of these random items need to seen there.
If this is by design, please ensure to keep it like this
It's not by design, it's from being lazy However it is a nice "bug" and will leave it as is. You do know someone will complain about it though.
It is definitely a feature - I support it 300%
I don't see why anyone should complain. If they want to leave the items on the Favourites list too, they are free to do so. I can maybe see a point about deleting items, however these items that have been placed on a SubMenu or AddOn list are thereafter effectively permanent Menu items, so they don't normally need modifying regularly.
Far better to have the ability to retain a proper, clean, and tidy Favourites list, where new items added (which always add to the bottom of the list, ie: after all the permanent junk if it's there) can instead be prioritised and automatically appear in the Home Screen Favourites Widget.
This is all somewhat defeated when the Favourites list is populated (cluttered?) by a whole lot of permanent (junk) items that are only there to provide menu functionality (there only needs to be 4 of these to make the Widget useless without scrolling), and are not a 'true' Favourite item (eg: a TV series you currently watching and want fast access to, but will be deleted from Favourites when it's all 'watched')
So, for once, a 'good' bug
